Subaru (25) is the handsome grandson of the chairman of a major clothing company. He’s lived a comfortable life under his grandfather’s roof since his parents died when he was a child. As a result, the people around him think of him as naive, spoiled, and shameless.
After graduating from college, he launched his own fashion brand with investment from his grandfather, but the business failed and lost a lot of money. This led to him joining his grandfather’s company. He was living life in easy mode until he was suddenly kicked out of his grandfather’s mansion and told to try living a normal life. He begins to live on his own in the company dorm and experience the life of a “common person” for the first time.
Assigned to the same department as Subaru, Madoka (25) is his complete opposite. She grew up in the countryside in a single-father household and is serious and dependable. She attended college in Tokyo on a scholarship with the goal of working for the clothing company that saved her with a large delivery of children’s clothing when a landslide hit her hometown. Having spent most of her time trying to make ends meet with part-time jobs, she’s had no time for romance. Through hard work, she lands a job at the clothing company she had longed to join. She tends to see things philosophically, and because of the trauma of being abandoned by her mother, she doesn’t trust or seek out romance, love, or anything uncertain.
Despite their very different backgrounds, Subaru’s feelings for Madoka begin to grow when they start spending time together as colleagues. Madoka, on the other hand, is taken aback by Subaru’s lack of life skills. At first she doesn’t trust in his feelings and treats him badly, but when she sees his determination, honesty, and willingness to change for her, she’s moved by his single-minded love and gradually begins to fall for him.
