Unmet: A Neurosurgeon’s Diary
  • English Subtitle

Miyabi Kawauchi was once a promising young neurosurgeon. A year and a half ago, she suffered a brain injury in an unfortunate accident, resulting in memory loss and other long-term effects. She lost her memories of the past two years and everything she experiences in one day is forgotten by the next. The only work she’s allowed to do is assisting nurses; any medical procedures, including surgery, are completely off-limits. “Today is all I have. So, I’ll do what I can with it.”
Determined not to give up, Miyabi meticulously records every detail of her daily life in her diary, from the day's events and the condition of patients to even the details of her conversations. Every morning, she wakes up at 5 a.m. and reviews her diary to supplement her memory. Despite her hardships, Miyabi does her best to live each day cheerfully and positively.

'Am I still a doctor?'
She is beginning to give up hope when Tomoharu Sanpei, a brilliant neurosurgeon who returned from America, suddenly bursts into her life. While he possesses exceptional diagnostic abilities and surgical skills, Miyabi finds him to be gloomy, arrogant, and self-centered. Tomoharu declares, “We’re under-staffed as it is, and there’s still lots to do.” Under pressure from Tomoharu, Miyabi is thrust back into being a neurosurgeon. Despite concerns and opposition from those around her, Miyabi makes her return to the operating room. However, it soon becomes clear that much is still hidden within Miyabi's “two missing years” of memory. What is the great secret hidden in Miyabi's hidden memories? What are her true feelings? The future of the “neurosurgeon with memory loss” is uncertain.
